ANNA BERGMAN
THE WRITER
Anna Bergman is a archivist, community historian and
founder of Bayard Rustin Symposium an annual
commemoration of Rustin’s legacy. She also produces
events about Pauli Murray, Frances Perkins and Ralph
Bunche. In 2014 Anna started the social media effort to
galvanize support for the investigation of the death of
Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. Anna has worked
with archives of: ladies garden clubs, frontier court
verdicts, neighborhood newspapers and more. Her oral
histories encompass Queer elders, environmental justice
and public healthcare.

ALAN SAINT CLARK
THE ARTIST
Alan Saint Clark is your friendly neighborhood supervillain. His graphic novels include Civil: The Life of Bayard Rustin (illustrator, with writer Anna Bergman) and the sci fi soap opera Death By Rainbow. As a futurist and member of the Black Speculative Arts Movement (BSAM), he has presented art and theory at Carnegie Hall, Institute for the Future, and Rights Con, among other conferences. His art has appeared in Time Magazine online, AfroSurrealism: The African Diaspora’s Surrealist Fiction by Rochelle Spencer (Routledge), Turning to the East at College of Staten Island, Krowswork gallery, and elsewhere. He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and their cat.
